Who is this qualification for?
This level 2 Award is intended for those working in areas where the assistance and movement of people is a prerequisite part of their role. The qualification is underpinned by the safe principles of moving and handling but recognises the special skills required when assisting and moving people. The qualification is suitable for new starts in organisations where the movement and assistance of people is a key role as well as being suitable for refresher training.
Candidates gaining this qualification will understand that any moving and handling must be carried out correctly and recognise its importance in ensuring a safer working environment for all.
Course Content:-
This course consists of 4 sections.
- Understand the reasons for safe manual handling.
- Understand how manual handling risk assessment contributes to improving health and safety.
- Understand the principles, types of equipment and testing requirements associated with manual handling safety.
- Be able to apply safe manual handling principles.
How is the course assessed?
This qualification is assessed through practical examination through the duration of the course followed by a 15 question multiple choice test. Time : 30 minutes
