Health & Safety in the Workplace – Level 2

The emphasis of this award is on making the employee safe for him/herself and for others and capable of identifying potential hazards. The course takes as its starting point the fact that most accidents are attributable to a lack of knowledge or carelessness and that the key to improvement is increased awareness on everybody’s part.

On course completion candidates will have increased awareness and understanding of the general principles of health and safety in the workplace, the nature of hazards and risks and their possible effects.

The course consists of 3 sections:

  1. The general principles of Health & Safety in the workplace.
  2. The nature of hazards and risks and their possible effects.
  3. Hazards and risks likely of affect the occupational health of individuals.
How is the Health & Safety course assessed?

Assessment is by a multiple choice test of 20 minutes duration. There will be 20 questions and a score of 14/20 must be achieved.

Entry Requirements: No formal requirements, good understanding of English, minimum age 18 yrs
